Unique Learning Styles

The Deputy Principal assists the principal in managing the school and promoting the education of learners. He is also responsible for school curriculum and pedagogy. Subject heads and grade heads ensure that the subject, learning area or phase and the education of the learners is promoted properly. They also need to assess and to record the attainment of learners.

Education today aims to cater for all the needs of our children and at Monument we are in the fortunate position of having an ELSEN class (Learners with Special Education Needs) at our school. This class caters specifically for children with learning challenges, e.g. ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc. Our main objective is to accommodate unique learning styles through differentiated instruction and to guide and support our learners to function independently and become productive citizens.

Auxiliary services are of the greatest importance to the total education of the child, and the assistance received from the Psychologist, the Speech Therapist and our Remedial Teacher is appreciated by all. Some of our pupils are engaged in an enrichment programme to further their knowledge in their own fields of interest.
